Hey Keroberos!  Good work, man.  When you posted this the first time I didn't have an iphone and didn't realize the hoops you must have jumped through to do these up.

Now I do, and it's my turn to thank you for the efforts.  Good work!

I just added the Super Mario World end-of-level jingle:

I'm using navi's "Hey!" and "Listen!" from Zelda: Ocarina of Time merged together as my text message sound. Someone always reacts :)

Subject: pop songs are not the most annoying
Animal sounds and non-pc messages, are much more fun to annoy those around you. Although I can admit to recognising a few of those on the list, most of them I have no idea about. Are game tones really just a secret way for geeks to recognise each other in the wild?  :-p

And hey, just for some fun, I converted all these to MPEG4s and tagged them up in iTunes, just so I can use them as ringtones on my iPhone.

Here's where you can grab them as a .zip file of .m4r's. Just drag them into iTunes (Windows or Mac) and they should show up in the Ringtones section of your Library.

Thanks, NFG!

Subject: Ringtones for Your Enjoy
I'm a huge game nerd, I admit it.  Moving on...

One of the things I really hate is people using pop songs (or any songs) as ringtones.  They sound like SHIT you guys, knock it off!  I've found though that game tunes - because they're originally chip-generated music anyway - sound fantastic as ringtones.  They're clear even at high volumes using shitty celphone speakers.

And so I've made a bunch of them.  These are carefully selected segments of the best songs of most games.  It's a sad fact that most games don't have a lot of ringtone-friendly soundtracks.  All of these are loud, high-energy good bits from games that may not have always been fun, but still sounded great.

They're about 150-300kB, with a rare few being slightly smaller or larger.  Most run about 4-8 seconds, the perfect length for a ringtone.  They're all MP3 format, and can be used for all kinds of mad things.  =)
