Locations change, plans change.  Your attempts to keep other people informed about our activities together will come to naught as I drive you farther and farther into the outback.  A couple of weeks ago I did a shoot where the location we'd chosen was no longer suitable, so we had to find another.  These things happen, but there's only a very slim chance I'm trying to find a secluded place for your corpse.

A typical shoot with NFG involves an array of options (camera gear, lights, variety of clothes, accessories), a good location, and a large amount of building on what works.

I'll be bringing the tools I think I'll need, including but not limited to a couple of different lenses and some lights, perhaps a tripod or some light stands too.

Why?
NFG needs practice.  Different people, places, conditions.  He needs to try new things, and if he's asked you to model for him, there's a good chance he thinks you're probably a fun person to spend an afternoon with.

Here are some tips for these one-on-one or small sessions:

Clothing:
Wear what you think makes you look good.  Unless otherwise discussed, bring what you're comfortable in.  NFG has enough trouble figuring out the buttons on his camera without trying to make you comfortable at the same time.  Your attitude shows through in photos - if you're not feeling awesome, you won't look awesome.

Bring a few outfits.  NFG has no fashion sense, but if you rock up in silver pants and a purple dotted fur coat, he might ask you to change.  Small things that can be swapped out quickly work well, and anything that shows some skin is awesome.  Shoulders, arms, legs: they all look good in photos.

Attitude
Bring one.  Not everyone looks good in a glamour shot, but if you're trying to burn hate-holes through his forehead the result will probably be better than a series of awkward smiles.

Most people are nervous at first.  It can take time before you and NFG are in sync, before you let loose the thing NFG is looking for.  Most of his shoots take an hour before things start getting good.  It's normal.

Don't come drunk.  NFG will try and take advantage of your trusting nature.

Location
NFG wanders.  Ask him what he's got planned.

Time
Most shoots go for 2-3 hours.  If things work well right off the bat, we might finish up earlier.  Let NFG know if you have a place to be.  If you get tired of his constant demands and whining about petty crap, tell him that you just remembered that thing you gotta go to, at that place you have to be.  Or just smack him and run.
