Subject: Nikon TTL Cable Pinout & Flash Hotshoe Pinout
So I accidentally bought the wrong cable in Japan, then figured it was actually going to be better for me, since the TTL connector is probably going to be more reliable than the hotshoe for use with my RadioPoppers. I had to work out the pinout to cut the cables and make my mods, and here it is:
And in case you were wondering, here's the hotshoe pinout as well:
1 is obviously the firing pin, it's the same on most flashes.
2 AKA SP, for Speedlight Present. This is how the camera knows there's a flash attached.
3 is the flash ready signal
4 is the stop-firing quench signal
5 is, well, it's ground.
