Ah, see as a girl my brain only responds to the colour pink. I guess that's why I don't enjoy video games normally.

Oh wait, that's total BULLSHIT..... whoops

Seriously.... why don't they just come out with a whole range of colours, like yellow, blue, green or red? Why does it always have to be pink?

Subject: Movies that you should NOT watch
Just an idea I had: I want to get a list going of movies that are coming out, or are fairly recent that people should avoid. As the people on this forum seem to be fairly bright I will most probably go with your suggestions.

To kick things off:

Step brothers (This is actually what prompted me to start this thread. What an awful awful movie)

Hey! I'm going to contibrute to this discussion!

Aimo: Do you ever look at a photo of somebody just sitting around being normal, not doing anything exactly 'cool' (ie. a portrait?). If so, then by your logic you are a pervert.

Just a thought :P

Subject: Cool facts
I love facts, particularly scientific ones. Stuff that's just damned cool. So this thread is a place to put them if you find any. Here's some examples:

Plants that climb up and around stuff wind the same way 90% of the time (I don't know if it's clockwise or anti). This occurs irrespective of location, climate or anything else.

Dolphins evolved from the ocean, to land, then back into the ocean.

There was a mass migration of cicadas accross an ocean, that they clearly couldn't cross without starving to death. So what they did was set out in groups. The first group went as long as they could then died of starvation. The group following them went out to where their bodies were, fed on them, and then travelled till starvation. The same thing kept happening, using previous groups like stepping stones of food.
How crazy is that???

Also - Whether or not you have a child before you're 19 could be based on your genes!

So yeah, post up cool things! I like them.

The craziest example I've ever heard of this is a guy who couldn't speak at all clearly, unless he put on a stupid over the top accent. Because it was then using a different part of the brain, he could speak quite well then.

Strokes always interest me, simply because of how people do things that are completely wrong, but can't pick up on it. Or they know it's wrong, but have no idea why. A good test they often use with stroke victims is to get them to draw a clock. They put all the numbers on it, but they'll only put them into one half, or a quater of the circle, rather than all the way around. They think it's fine until asked to look at it more closely, and they know that something's not quite right, but they don't know that the numbers should be going all the way round.

While sad for those involved, I think it's a fascinating thing.

Glad your aunt is coping :) It must be increadibly frustrating.

Hey don't worry so much. At least this will pass very quickly.

I however, will have many more years to come of people informing me that I am tall when they first meet me.

'Well thanks dipshit, I hadn't noticed till now. You have changed my life forever.'

Some other things I hate about people in computer labs near me:

- People who type with their nails
- Loud people on their phone
- People who play flash games with stupid noises and don't mute the computer
- People who sit around a computer in a group and laugh loudly at lame youtube videos
- People who push their stuff all over my space
- People who eat noisily and messily

I need a super power which enables me to blast morons out of my life.

This amuses me more than I can say.

Why is everything more hilarious the moment you put a segway underneath it?

*giggles some more*

Nice speach bubbles too! Made it all the more humerous.

Yeah, I don't have anything intelligent to add to this thread. Sorry.

Double post because this is different:

I am pissed off about this. I hate the religious status of our government influencing descisions, and when law is passed directly relating to discrimination in one direction about one group, well that shits me.

I think the thing about Australians is:

We do take notice of what's going on.
But if we can't change it then we don't get worked up about it.
And if we can change it then we don't get worked up about it because we'll just go and try and change it as best we can.

Seriously, why worry about things you can't change? Why worry about things you can?

There are some things I realise I'm never going to have a sway over, and I'm not passionate about it to make the effort ot try and get change. The things I am passionate about, I will try and change as much as is within my power.

But yes, some Australians are ignorant. But so are people in every country.

Subject: Juggling!
Well, because Josh was awesome enough to be able to pick up juggling at work, I decided I'd give it more of a chance.

I'd tried in the past, in my own 'pick something up and give it a whurl' way, but wanted to learn properly this time. So I found a site on the net, my Dad's juggling ball set, and set to work.

Progressed from single ball, to double, trying to get my hand placement and toss right. Then went to three balls. With about half an hour's practice tonight I'm doing about 3x the revolutions I was doing before! It's great fun.

Just thought I'd put this here, and ask if there's other things like this that other people enjoy doing?

I also like yo-ho diablo, and poi. :)

Yeah, I don't spend my time trying out 101 new things each day because I seriously couldn't be assed. I keep up with what's out there, and when I feel like something new is substantially better than what I have, or fills a hole in my life, then I use it.

I use my phone for the only things I need it for - phone and text. I have never ever wanted something else in it. Hell, I've even found uses for it that it wasn't designed for. Like a torch!!!

I love new things. They excite me, and I love what people brighter than me come up with. But the fact is, not every new invention has to be used by me personally. Take a new medical procedure. It's faster, safer and has a better outcome than the last. I can say yeah, that's awesome, but I don't then feel the need to try it out on myself, because I had one a while ago and it's still working fine.

Also- changing the way my computer is set up halfway through a semester isn't the best for me. I like to keep things the same when I need them the most. Doesn't mean that I'm not considering changing EVER. Silly.
