Subject: Current Pricings: Rare Games in Japan
I like to keep tabs on interesting things, especially now that I've lost so much of my shit in the flood.  Here's some interesting stuff I've noticed in the last month or so:

A Capcom CPS Changer set, with four boxed games (Street Fighter Zero, Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Final Fight and Capcom World) sold for 179,000円.  That's $2100 AUD.

Another CPS Changer system, mint condition but without any games sold for 84,603円.  I paid 5,000円 (79,603円 less) for mine, which is a fine discount for missing out on a manual and a few plastic bags.  =)

A green Mazora Dreamcast sold for 98,000円.  That's a little over a grand for a dreamcast with a metallic green paint job, ye gods.  This same seller had pretty much every limited edition Dreamcast, like the STARS edition (blue Chris version), transparent and red Seaman versions, pearl pink and blue, etc.  What a collection.

Finally, the greatest collection of Saturn games I've ever seen recently closed for a rather affordable 104,000 ($1250 AUD).  This set included every game that makes the Saturn a gamer's dream machine.

Outrun, Afterburner 2, Image Fight & X-Multiply, In The Hunt, Capcom Generations 1-5, Gunbird, Gun Frontier, Galaxy Force 2, Tiger Heli 2, Gradius Deluxe Pack, Keio Yugekitai, Game Paradise, Gekirindan, Parodius Deluxe Pack, Cotton 2, Cotton Boomerang, Columns Arcade Collection, Salamander Deluxe Pack Plus, Thunder Force Gold Pack 1 & 2, Thunder Force V Special Pack, Shienryu, Parodius Forever With Me, Skull Fang, Steam Hearts, Strikers 1945, Strikers 1945 II, Kingdom Grand Prix, Street Fighter Collection, Space Harrier, Sexy Parodius, Segata Sanshiro, Sengoku Blade, Soukyugurentai, Sonic Wings Special, Sol Divide, Taito Chase HQ & SCI, Darius Gaiden, Darius 2, Cho Aniki, Macross, Twinkle Star Sprites, Twinbee Yaho~ Deluxe Pack, Terra Cresta 3D, Donpachi, Do Donpachi, Night Striker S, Necronomicon Pinball, Hyper Duel, Battle Garegga, Batsugun, Virtua Fighter 2, Virtua Racing, Power Drift, Fantasy Zone, Blast Wind, Planet Joker, Manx TT, Metal Black, Radiant Silvergun, Layer Section, Layer Section 2, Bokan To Ippatsu!

Basically, if you ever wanted to have every decent Saturn game ever made, this is a fantastic place to start.  And all that for $1250.  Wow.  I really should have bought it.

I've noticed that Saturn games are really cheap to buy from Japan because there were so damn many of them printed. There's a store that e-mails me every week to let me know about all the stuff they can ship air-freight to me, and on average every Saturn game I might want turns out to be around $10 or $15 in US dollars at the most. Sadly, they only take Paypal for payment, which means I can't do business with them.

They call themselves the Palet Mail Service and they're based out of Tokyo somewhere, I think. Here's the link:

http://www.paletweb.com/

I've ordered from them in the past, but not since about 2004 or so. I'm happy to share the link but I want to emphasize that I'm not endorsing them. At the same time I don't recommend against them or anything, but I want to make it clear the risk of ordering from them is yours alone. Have fun.
