Subject: GameStation X: Found in Calgary
Back when I ran my game store we had little round stickers which we'd use to indicate that we'd tested and approved 'em.  Today someone I know in Calgary (some eight hours away from my store) bought a SNES cartridge with the sticker attached!

Talk about a flood of memories, wow:

Of course there was also a discussion about the deplorable condition of his hands, but apparently he works outside in the cold without gloves, digging holes for orphans or something.  I dunno.

I still stop and look where the store was every time I drive through Kelowna. That was one of the best times of my life, back then. ;)

As for this fellow, well, digging the holes for the orphans is kinder than making them dig their own holes, I guess. ;)

My copy of Phantasy Star 4 still has that Gamestation X sticker on it!

I was blown away this morning hearing that you were actually the dude who used to run Gamestation X in town!  I have to thank you for running that place when I was a kid; I wish I had frequented it more often and had bought everything from you, because I really didn't realize how good we had it with such an amazing game store in town.  Cham Cham on the window, Famicom in the display up front, Blazing Star and Magical Drop 3 in the Neo Geo Machine, slightly filthy anime along the back shelf, dudes playing Elemental Gearbolt on the big TV in the back...

It's just hasn't been the same without you here, with our two shitty, interchangeable EBgames with nothing older than six months on the shelves and nothing rarer than last year's NHL game in the used section.  We sure do miss you, Lawrence.

I FUCKING LOVE DIGGING HOLES!

You guys should join me in building the new stores.  And you thought it was all building computers and running LAN cables.

I should add that my last place was pretty much part of the same plaza as your store, and your store comes up in conversation on occasion.  Despite most of the customer base being ages 10 to 15 at the time, they seem to have favorable memories with only a couple displeased individuals who don't recall why they disliked the place.

Oddly, no one seems to know what happened to you.  Not even a crazy conspiracy theory.
