Subject: The Cola Thread
Japan is pretty awesome, but at the same time, it's a really strange place. My first impressions of the place remain strangely accurate: it's just like the place you call home, but for completely different reasons. Everything that looks similar is like that because of a very different set of decisions and thinking leading to its existence.
It's just like home, but completely alien at the same time.
Which sort of brings me to my point: Japan has a weird cola experimentation fixation. This trip alone I found no fewer than six different colas, beyond the normal Coke and Pepsi products like Zero, Diet, and regular.

And here's one I found in an abandoned hotel. The Japanese text reads "America, Cascade mountain mineral water used." Apparently popular in the 90s, this cola was found by the front door (Along with some US Gold Lemon Lime) and was probably left by visitors after the hotel closed some 25 years ago.
And, for good measure, here are a few of the other weird-ass colas I've found in Japan:
