Subject: Bondage Photography
I've found myself shooting bondage-style shots recently, and I find it strange that I enjoy doing them so much because I've never considered myself a bondage type of guy.  I've never had bondage in my porn rotation and I've never really gone out of my way to view the stuff, be it sexual or not.

But shooting this sort of thing really appeals to me, and I think I'm seeing some successes with my experiments with it.  A recent shoot with a remarkable model resulted in some images I am very proud of.

And it got me to thinking about what I'm doing and why, and that in turn led to this thread.

It's true that all photos are enhanced by a rapport between subject and photographer, but there's a difference between enjoying the company of a clothed person, and taking every freedom from a naked one.

I am very proud, and humbled, by the fact that so many models trust me and like me enough to work with me this way.  There's a certain extra pressure on me as I try to ensure their trust isn't misplaced, but short of binding their legs and letting them fall (sorry Jess!) I find this to be very easy to manage.

There's a very interesting intimacy too, when working in very close quarters with someone who cannot hide from you (or the camera).  When all is revealed conversations very quickly become frank and honest as if all our comfortable deceptions are removed with the clothes.

Upon reflection I think this is a process I enjoy.  All roads toward the creation of art should be this enjoyable to travel.

I look forward to doing more of this kind of photography.
