Subject: Nintendo / Seta Aleck64 Sticks
I received my Aleck64 PCB today, and it came with a pair of sticks on a standard J-arcade control panel.  These sticks are really neat, with a fantastic quick-switching analogue/digital selector ring.

Twist: Digital!

Twist: Analogue!

It has six buttons plus start for each player, and a 3-wire output to the Aleck64 PCB that I'm guessing is N64-compatible.  I'll find out tonight if they work or not, and if so, I'm probably going to put them to good use on the ol' N64.

Pics coming soon.

A few pics have been taken!

This is the Analogue/Digital locking ring.  When it's pushed down and rotated anti-clockwise it forces the 4 microswitches closer to the centre, and locks in place.

Here's the gate built in to the A/D locking ring.  It's an Octogate until it's shoved into digital mode, at which point it becomes a square-gate with reduced movement.

With the locking ring removed, it looks a lot like a massively oversized N64 3D stick

You can see the two encoder wheels sticking up through the PCB, one on each axis.

For reference, here's the N64 3D stick:

The wheels are the same in both units, which I find surprising.  I'd have expected the arcade system to use something more industrial, either larger metal wheels, or potentiometres, or something.
