Subject: Arcade Font Engine Updates
Thi is the official update thread for the NFG Arcade Font Engine.  You can track new fonts, script changes and other useless stuff here.  Note also the RSS feed if you'd like to stay up to date without bookmarking.

March 01
  • Added a bunch of new fonts:
    • Asterix
    • Batsugun
    • Battle Bakraid
    • Don Doko Don
    • Dimahoo
    • Gain Ground
    • Ghouls n Ghosts
    • Ghosts n Goblins

March 02
  • Fixed the [Image: http://nfggames.com/system/arcade/arcade.php/y-nds/z-2/cs-0.0.0/x-Dangerous%20Seed] font by removing the superfluous Classic font.

If you like fonts, you might like Gebsite, a Japanese site with a collection of Windows/Mac compatible OpenType and TrueType fonts.  There's some great ones in there, like Super Gezone and Gameltry and The Yellows.  Click on 'em and you'll recognize the games they're really from.  =)

Added a brand new Font Selector.  It shows off every font available, and the comments for each.  You can click on them to jump to the Font Machine and create your own phrases, woo!

Updated the font selector to show font variants automatically, when clicked.

Added 4 new fonts:
  • Time Soldiers
  • Captain Sky Hawk
  • Black Tiger
  • Bubble Symphony

Rearranged Shinobi and Dragon Saber to put the non-black colours first, so they work better with the font selector.

Total font count now: 85!  =D

Two updates in one night?  Sure!  Technically I did Cybattler last night anyway, so...  Let's go with it.

Correction:
  • Xexes was incorrectly called Gradius.  It's now called Xexex, and I've added Gradius.

Added a stack of new fonts, and there's a new dynamic archiving button that'll bundle up the current arcade.php and all the fonts available so far.  The new SNK fonts are courtesy of Kawaks, a fine emulator that allows ripping from NeoGeo games, which MAME does not.

Big update today.  Twyst and I both packed on the new features: I added a new listing command as well as a font-counter, and he added the word-balloons like you see in the post above.

Use /b-up/ or /b-down/ for the balloon's tail, and you can set the left/right position using /bp-<percent>/.  For example, /b-u/bp-15/ looks like this:

Also, the new commands I added are: /count-1/ and /list-1/.  The first replaces any phrase with a simple font count, and the latter spits out a list of all the available fonts.  So, you can list all [Image: http://nfggames.com/system/arcade/arcade.php/dbl-2/y-pabom/z-0/count-1/] fonts easily!

Working on a new E-Z-use page for creating your own phrases.  With Twyst's help and my incompetence it's coming along painfully, but it's taking shape and I'm pleased with the progress.

New version of the fontmaker page is up!

I'm happy with this new page, it's much more user-friendly, with word-balloon controls, but no more colour mixer.  (No one used it anyway).  You can still get that on the old version.

As usual, many thanks to Twyst for helping me out with the tricky bits, and 99% of the javascript.  And boy, wait till you see HIS new project.

Also, finalized the RANDOM option!  Now, if you enter 'r' for either the Y or Z values, you'll get a random font or variation respectively.  For example:
