Well, they've just patented another all-singing and all-dancing device. GoRumors found the Sony patent and, basically, it's an LCD screen with configurable soft-keys.
I'm not impressed by touchscreen controls that pretend to be d-pads. Having now played a few iphone games, I can't help but believe it's a poor substitute for real controllers. Yeah, it works, but it's far from ideal.
I wonder what Sony plans to do with this patent. And, I wonder if the different iphone controls schemes count as prior art.
