Subject: NFG's Regular Saturday Shoots
I'm looking for models and assorted make-model-look-good staff for regular Saturday shoots.  I'm usually in the city taking pics of the local parkour scene, but I'm itching for a new creative challenge.  Wanna be my victim for a couple of hours?

If you'd like some shots to pad out your 'folio or have something in mind you'd like to shoot (in the city or elsewhere) please shoot me a message.  Let me know you'll be there, we'll try and make some awesome shots.

I intend to start shooting anytime between 10am and noon.  If this time doesn't work for you, please ask about changing it.  I live to please.

I want to do this regularly, every Saturday from now until July or so.

I will try and involve other people.  Photographers, makeup artists, maybe other models.  If you have designs or plans you want to bring to the shoot, let me know so we can plan something out.

Fun times ahoy, yes?

Important!

oooooooooooo! I want to have shots taken of me and my friends, we practice parkour in the city every weekend!!! :D

We have a photographer that comes along sometimes, but he's a big towering inferno of...well...discouragement :P

And if you don't want to...then just bring the models you are photographing to the jam, then all parties are happy, maybe not the model, but the parties that are important will be haha

Subject: The first Saturday Shoot
Well the first Regular Saturday Shoot was incredibly awesome.  Many thanks to Lisa M for coming out and putting up with my shit for an hour and a half.  The resulting images are very satisfying for me, and it seems she's not unimpressed with them either.  =)

For a short while, the rest of the good ones are here!

The second shoot went exceedingly well also.  The incredibly lovely Siân endured my fumbling for a couple of hours and the results are, IMHO, spectacular.  It was a really tough shoot to start, I really felt I was not doing justice to her image.  She was a striking chaotic lolita vision with cute goggles, and my shots were rubbish.  But then, finally, things started to fall together.  By the time we were done, there were more hits than misses, and I think we were both satisfied with the result.

Subject: 3rd Saturday Shoot`
Today was a very interesting shoot.  This second Lisa was much newer to modelling, but made up for her inexperience by being exceptionally good at following directions.  The whole shoot was very collaborative: we worked together to look at what we had done, and make improvements.  She was a beautiful girl, and I think I did a decent job of capturing some of it.

This shoot was very difficult.  I had a hard time really synchronizing with the model, and I felt like the entire shoot was awkward and a bit amateurish.  She was lovely, a real delight, but nothing I could do satisfied my inner artist.  We started in the city and got some fun shots, but nothing I raced to put in my portfolio.  We played with the lights, the church, and the park, but nothing really worked for me.  Days like this are frustrating, 'cause I feel like I've wasted an opportunity.  I guess they just happen once in a while?  Bah.

It didn't help that I returned home to find there was nothing I could do to get the colour right.  For every success that day I stumbled over two failures.

The next Saturday shoot was on a Sunday.  Two in one weekend 'cause I had plans for the following Saturday...  It went MUCH better.  The model and I connected fairly quickly, and I was very happy with her performance.  It was my first shoot with a makeup artist (MUA) and it really helped make things feel 'professional'.  Normally the first hour sucks, but this shoot went fantastically well from the first shot.  It was a string of successes, and I couldn't have been happier with the results.

Subject: The rest of the first of the regular...
So I haven't updated this for a while, but the regular Saturday shoots were a total success for me, and I think for the models who attended.  Nearly every shoot resulted in goot photos for everyone's portfolio, I learned a lot every time, and as often as not I made a friend or contact with whom I could shoot in the future.

So, mission accomplished!

Here are samples from the rest of the regular shoots:

...Actually, I didn't miss many at all.

There have been many shoots since.  I may start a modelling thread.  =)
