Man, I love pixels.  Check out this deleriously wicket artwork from Air Gallet, a little known shooter from Gazelle and Banpresto:

Whoever made this art really knew their shit.  I have a suspicion that it was the same guy who did this art for Banpresto's Sailor Moon arcade game:


The attention to detail is spectacular. 

And have a look at this arcade.  It's pretty much an authentic Japanese game center, right down to the demolished-by-giant-mutant cabinet:
