Subject: Need to read that Saturn controller review.

I love all your critiques of hardware and sprite artwork. Have you taken a moment to use a silver edition Xbox360 pad? Also, this may be old news to everyone else but Microsoft install a new dpad on all the newest Xbox360 controllers - not just the silver edition. I spent some time at a kiosk a few days ago and the dpad they had hooked up was different from my controller that was manufactured in 2008 or earlier. The diameter was very slightly smaller, and it had at least some click when pressed, and both of these things made a huge difference for me. I seriously thought the problem had been solved, and this is now the best controller of this generation, with its closest competitor being the classic controller pro.

I tend to get carried away with these first impressions, though. I've really enjoyed using the silver edition to play Lost Planet 2 on my PC, but I have not tried it with a fighter yet.

...How'd you hear about the Saturn pad review, eh?

I haven't seen the new 360 pad. MS did talk about a revision, a green pad destined for europe only. I dunno if it was ever released. As for the silver pad, I want one but I can't really justify a hundred bucks for it without trying it first, and the game shops here have no demo units. Best of this generation isn't saying much, the only competition is the Wii (the PS pad of course being much older)...

EDIT: Oh, right. I didn't realize the review showed up on the front page. It's still a WIP, hidden in an admin-only forum. You still don't get to read it, even as a member, until I'm done with it. Nearly there... =)
